  1. Thus saith the Lord of hostes, That there shall yet come people, and the inhabitants of great cities.

  2. And they that dwell in one citie, shall go to another, saying, Vp, let vs go and pray before the Lord, and seeke the Lord of hostes: I wil go also.

  3. Yea, great people and mightie nations shall come to seeke the Lord of hostes in Ierusalem, and to pray before the Lord.

  4. Thus sayth the Lord of hostes, In those dayes shall ten men take holde out of all languages of the nations, euen take holde of the skirt of him that is a Iewe, and say, We will go with you: for we haue heard that God is with you.

  5. Blessed are they which hunger and thirst for righteousnes: for they shalbe filled.

  6. But seeke ye first the kingdome of God, and his righteousnesse, and all these things shall be ministred vnto you.

  7. Aske, and it shall be giuen you: seeke, and ye shall finde: knocke, and it shall be opened vnto you.

  8. For whosoeuer asketh, receiueth: and he, that seeketh, findeth: and to him that knocketh, it shall be opened.

  9. For what man is there among you, which if his sonne aske him bread, woulde giue him a stone?

  10. Or if he aske fish, wil he giue him a serpent?

  11. If ye then, which are euill, can giue to your children good giftes, howe much more shall your Father which is in heauen, giue good thinges to them that aske him?

  12. Therefore whatsoeuer ye woulde that men should doe to you, euen so doe ye to them: for this is the Lawe and the Prophets.

  13. Blessed are ye that hunger nowe: for ye shalbe satisfied: blessed are ye that weepe now: for ye shall laugh.

  14. And I say vnto you, Aske, and it shall be giuen you: seeke, and yee shall finde: knocke, and it shalbe opened vnto you.

  15. For euery one that asketh, receiueth: and he that seeketh, findeth: and to him that knocketh, it shalbe opened.

  16. If a sonne shall aske bread of any of you that is a father, will he giue him a stone? or if hee aske a fish, will he for a fish giue him a serpent?

  17. Or if hee aske an egge, will hee giue him a scorpion?

  18. If yee then which are euill, can giue good giftes vnto your children, howe much more shall your heauenly Father giue the holy Ghost to them, that desire him?

  19. Striue to enter in at the straite gate: for many, I say vnto you, will seeke to enter in, and shall not be able.

  20. If any man come to mee, and hate not his father, and mother, and wife, and children, and brethren, and sisters: yea, and his owne life also, he can not be my disciple.

  21. And whosoeuer beareth not his crosse, and commeth after mee, can not bee my disciple.

  22. For which of you minding to builde a towre, sitteth not downe before, and counteth the cost, whether hee haue sufficient to performe it,

  23. Lest that after he hath laide the foundation, and is not able to performe it, all that behold it, begin to mocke him,

  24. Saying, This man began to builde, and was not able to make an end?

  25. Or what King going to make warre against another King, sitteth not downe first, and taketh counsell, whether he be able with ten thousande, to meete him that commeth against him with twentie thousand?
