  1. And after the soppe, Satan entred into him. Then sayd Iesus vnto him, That thou doest, doe quickly.

  2. Hereafter will I not speake many things vnto you: for the prince of this world commeth, and hath nought in me.

  14. And lest I should be exalted out of measure through the aboundance of reuelations, there was giuen vnto me a pricke in the flesh, the messenger of Satan to buffet mee, because I should not be exalted out of measure.

  15. Wherein, in times past ye walked, according to the course of this world, and after the prince that ruleth in the aire, euen the spirite, that nowe worketh in the children of disobedience,

  16. Neither giue place to the deuill.

  17. Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the assaultes of the deuil.

  18. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, and against the worldly gouernours, the princes of the darkenesse of this worlde, against spirituall wickednesses, which are in ye hie places.

  19. For this cause take vnto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to resist in the euill day, and hauing finished all things, stand fast.

  20. Stand therefore, and your loynes girded about with veritie, and hauing on the brest plate of righteousnesse,

  21. And your feete shod with the preparation of the Gospel of peace.

  22. Aboue all, take the shielde of faith, wherewith ye may quench all the fierie dartes of the wicked,

  23. Who hath deliuered vs from the power of darkenesse, and hath translated vs into the kingdome of his deare Sonne,

  24. And hath spoyled the Principalities, and Powers, and hath made a shew of them openly, and hath triumphed ouer them in the same crosse.
