  1. And it was so that the begger died, and was caried by the Angels into Abrahams bosome. The rich man also died, and was buried.

  2. And being in hell in torments, he lift vp his eyes, and sawe Abraham a farre off, and Lazarus in his bosome.

  8. And hee saide, All these haue I kept from my youth.

  9. Nowe when Iesus heard that, he saide vnto him, Yet lackest thou one thing. Sell all that euer thou hast, and distribute vnto the poore, and thou shalt haue treasure in heauen, and come follow mee.

  10. But when he heard those things, he was very heauie: for he was marueilous riche.

  11. And when Iesus sawe him very sorowfull, he said, With what difficultie shall they that haue riches, enter into the kingdome of God!

  12. Surely it is easier for a camel to go through a needles eye, then for a riche man to enter into the kingdome of God.

  13. Beholde, there was a man named Zaccheus, which was the chiefe receiuer of the tribute, and he was riche.

  20. He is puft vp and knoweth nothing, but doteth about questions and strife of words, whereof commeth enuie, strife, railings, euill surmisings,

  21. Frowarde disputations of men of corrupt mindes and destitute of ye trueth, which thinke that gaine is godlines: from such separate thy selfe.

  22. But godlinesse is great gaine, if a man be content with that he hath.

  23. For we brought nothing into the world, and it is certaine, that we can carie nothing out.

  24. Therefore when wee haue foode and raiment, let vs therewith be content.

  25. For they that will be rich, fall into tentation and snares, and into many foolish and noysome lustes, which drowne men in perdition and destruction.
