  1. When the wayes of a man please the Lord, he will make also his enemies at peace with him.

  2. Better is a dry morsell, if peace be with it, then an house full of sacrifices with strife.

  3. The beginning of strife is as one that openeth the waters: therefore or the contention be medled with, leaue off.

  9. I forme the light and create darkenes: I make peace and create euill: I the Lord doe all these things.

  10. There is no peace, sayeth the Lord, vnto the wicked.

  11. And seeke the prosperitie of the citie, whither I haue caused you to be caried away captiues, and pray vnto the Lord for it: for in the peace thereof shall you haue peace.

  12. When destruction commeth, they shall seeke peace, and shall not haue it.

  13. And in that day wil I make a couenant for them, with the wilde beasts, and with the foules of the heauen, and with that that creepeth vpon the earth: and I will breake the bowe, and the sworde and the battell out of the earth, and will make them to sleepe safely.

  14. Thus sayth the Lord of hostes, The fast of the fourth moneth, and the fast of the fift, and the fast of the seuenth, and the fast of the tenth, shall be to the house of Iudah ioy and gladnes, and prosperous hie feasts: therefore loue the trueth and peace.

  15. Blessed are the peace makers: for they shall be called the children of God.

  16. And the brother shall betray the brother to death, and the father the sonne, and the children shall rise against their parents, and shall cause them to die.

  17. And yee shall be hated of all men for my Name: but he that endureth to the end, he shall be saued.

  18. Thinke not that I am come to sende peace into the earth: I came not to send peace, but the sworde.

  19. For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in lawe.

  20. And a mans enemies shall be they of his owne housholde.

  21. Salt is good: but if the salt be vnsauerie, wherewith shall it be seasoned? haue salt in your selues, and haue peace one with another.

  22. Glory be to God in the high heauens, and peace in earth, and towards men good will.

  23. And the next day, he shewed himselfe vnto them as they stroue, and woulde haue set them at one againe, saying, Syrs, ye are brethren: why doe ye wrong one to another?

  24. But he that did his neighbour wrong, thrust him away, saying, Who made thee a prince, and a iudge ouer vs?

  25. Wilt thou kill mee, as thou diddest the Egyptian yesterday?
