  1. When a man’s ways please the LORD, he makes even his enemies to be at peace with him.

  13. In that day I will make a covenant for them with the animals of the field, and with the birds of the sky, and with the creeping things of the ground. I will break the bow, the sword, and the battle out of the land, and will make them lie down safely.

  14. Thus says the LORD of Hosts: “The fasts of the fourth fifth, seventh, and tenth months shall be for the house of Judah joy and gladness, and cheerful feasts. Therefore love truth and peace.”

  15. Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called children of God.

  16. “Brother will deliver up brother to death, and the father his child. Children will rise up against parents, and cause them to be put to death.

  17. You will be hated by all men for my name’s sake, but he who endures to the end will be saved.

  19. For I came to set a man at odds against his father, and a daughter against her mother, and a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law.

  20. A man’s foes will be those of his own household.

  21. Salt is good, but if the salt has lost its saltiness, with what will you season it? Have salt in yourselves, and be at peace with one another.”
