  1. And he came to Derbe and Lystra. And behold, there was a certain disciple there named Timothy, the son of a Jewish woman that believed: but his father was a Gentile.

  2. To this man the brethren that were in Lystra and Iconium gave a good testimony.

  3. Him Paul would have to go along with him: and taking him, he circumcised him, because of the Jews who were in those places. For they all knew that his father was a Gentile.

  4. And then immediately the brethren sent away Paul, to go unto the sea: but Silas and Timothy remained there.

  8. And after the tumult was ceased, Paul calling to him the disciples and exhorting them, took his leave and set forward to go into Macedonia.

  9. And when he had gone over those parts and had exhorted them with many words, he came into Greece:

  10. Where, when he had spent three months, the Jews laid wait for him, as he was about to sail into Syria. So he took a resolution to return through Macedonia.

  11. And there accompanied him Sopater, the son of Pyrrhus, of Berea: and of the Thessalonians, Aristarchus and Secundus: and Gaius of Derbe and Timothy: and of Asia, Tychicus and Trophimus.

  12. Timothy, my fellow labourer, saluteth you: and Lucius and Jason and Sosipater, my kinsmen.

  13. For this cause have I sent to you Timothy, who is my dearest son and faithful in the Lord. Who will put you in mind of my ways, which are in Christ Jesus: as I teach every where in every church.

  14. Now if Timothy come, see that he be with you without fear: for he worketh the work of the Lord, as I also do.

  15. Let no man therefore despise him: but conduct ye him on his way in peace, that he may come to me. For I look for him with the brethren.

  16. For the Son of God, Jesus Christ, who was preached among you by us, by me and Sylvanus and Timothy, was not: It is and It is not. But, It is, was in him.

  17. And I hope in the Lord Jesus to send Timothy unto you shortly, that I also may be of good comfort, when I know the things concerning you.

  18. For I have no man so of the same mind, who with sincere affection is solicitous for you.

  19. For all seek the things that are their own not the things that are Jesus Christ's.

  20. Now know ye the proof of him: that as a son with the father, so hath he served with me in the gospel.

  21. Him therefore I hope to send unto you immediately: so soon as I shall see how it will go with me.

  22. And we sent Timothy, our brother and the minister of God in the gospel of Christ, to confirm you and exhort you concerning your faith:

  23. But now when Timothy came to us from you and related to us your faith and charity, and that you have a good remembrance of us always, desiring to see us as we also to see you:

  24. Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ, according to the commandment of God our Saviour and Christ Jesus our hope:

  25. To Timothy, his beloved son in faith. Grace, mercy and peace, from God the Father and from Christ Jesus our Lord.
