Therefore, we also give thanks to God without ceasing: because, that when you had received of us the word of the hearing of God, you received it not as the word of men, but (as it is indeed) the word of God, who worketh in you that have believed.
And because from thy infancy thou hast known the holy scriptures which can instruct thee to salvation by the faith which is in Christ Jesus.
All scripture, inspired of God, is profitable to teach, to reprove, to correct, to instruct in justice:
That the man of God may be perfect, furnished to every good work.
Wherefore, as the Holy Ghost saith: To-day if you shall hear his voice,
For the word of God is living and effectual and more piercing than any two edged sword; and reaching unto the division of the soul and the spirit, of the joints also and the marrow: and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.
For of his own will hath he begotten us by the word of truth, that we might be some beginning of his creature.
Wherefore, casting away all uncleanness and abundance of naughtiness, with meekness receive the ingrafted word, which is able to save your souls.
But be ye doers of the word and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.
For if a man be a hearer of the word and not a doer, he shall be compared to a man beholding his own countenance in a glass.
But he that hath looked into the perfect law of liberty and hath continued therein, not becoming a forgetful hearer but a doer of the work: this man shall be blessed in his deed.
Because it is written: You shall be holy, for I am holy.
Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but incorruptible, by the word of God who liveth and remaineth for ever.
