  1. One lamb in the morning, and another in the evening.

  2. With one lamb a tenth part of flour tempered with beaten oil, of the fourth part of a hin, and wine for libation of the same measure.

  3. And the other lamb thou shalt offer in the evening, according to the rite of the morning oblation, and according to what we have said, for a savour of sweetness:

  4. It is a sacrifice to the Lord, by perpetual oblation unto your generations, at the door of the tabernacle of the testimony before the Lord, where I will appoint to speak unto thee.

  5. He immolated also the victim of holocaust: and his sons brought him the blood thereof, which he poured round about on the altar.

  6. And the victim being cut into pieces, they brought to him the head and all the members: all which he burnt with fire upon the altar.

  7. Having first washed the entrails and the feet with water.

  8. And they sacrificed victims to the Lord: and they offered holocausts the next day, a thousand bullocks, a thousand rams, a thousand lambs, with their libations, and with every thing prescribed most abundantly for all Israel.

  9. And they ate, and drank before the Lord that day with great joy. And they anointed the second time Solomon the son of David. And they anointed him to the Lord to be prince, and Sadoc to be high priest.

  10. And Solomon sat on the throne of the Lord as king instead of David his father, and he pleased all: and all Israel obeyed him.

  11. Thou shalt sprinkle me with hyssop, and I shall be cleansed: thou shalt wash me, and I shall be made whiter than snow.

  12. To my hearing thou shalt give joy and gladness: and the bones that have been humbled shall rejoice.

  13. Turn away thy face from my sins, and blot out all my iniquities.

  14. Create a clean heart in me, O God: and renew a right spirit within my bowels.

  15. Cast me not away from thy face; and take not thy holy spirit from me.

  16. Thus saith the Lord of hosts the God of Israel: Add your burnt offerings to your sacrifices, and eat ye the flesh.

  17. For I spoke not to your fathers, and I commanded them not, in the day that I brought them out of the land of Egypt, concerning the matter of burnt offerings and sacrifices.

  18. But this thing I commanded them, saying: Hearken to my voice, and I will be your God, and you shall be my people: and walk ye in all the way that I have commanded you, that it may be well with you.

  19. In saying before, Sacrifices, and oblations, and holocausts for sin thou wouldest not, neither are they pleasing to thee, which are offered according to the law.

  20. Then said I: Behold, I come to do thy will, O God: He taketh away the first, that he may establish that which followeth.

  21. In the which will, we are sanctified by the oblation of the body of Jesus Christ once.
