  1. And I will pick out from among you the transgressors, and the wicked, and will bring them out of the land where they sojourn, and they shall not enter into the land of Israel: and you shall know that I am the Lord.

  2. And thou shalt say to the house of Israel that provoketh me: Thus saith the Lord God: Let all your wicked doings suffice you, O house of Israel:

  3. We have sinned, we have committed iniquity, we have done wickedly, and have revolted: and we have gone aside from thy commandments, and thy judgments.

  4. But to thee, the Lord our God, mercy and forgiveness, for we have departed from thee:

  5. And they have not cried to me with their heart, but they howled in their beds: they have thought upon wheat and wine, they are departed from me.

  6. Samaria shall become desolate; for she hath rebelled against her God: they shall fall by the sword: their infants shall be dashed in pieces, and their women with child shall be ripped up.

  7. But they would not hearken, and they turned away the shoulder to depart: and they stopped their ears, not to hear.

  8. But the things which proceed out of the mouth, come forth from the heart, and those things defile a man.

  9. For from the heart come forth evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false testimonies, blasphemies.

  10. And again he sent to them another servant: and him they wounded in the head and used him reproachfully.

  11. And again he sent another, and him they killed: and many others, of whom some they beat, and others they killed.

  12. Therefore, having yet one son, most dear to him, he also sent him unto them last of all, saying: They will reverence my son.

  13. But the husbandmen said one to another: This is the heir. Come let us kill him and the inheritance shall be ours.

  14. And laying hold on him, they killed him and cast him out of the vineyard.

  15. If I had not come and spoken to them, they would not have sin: but now they have no excuse for their sin.

  16. Behold, ye despisers, and wonder and perish: for I work a work in your days, a work which you will not believe, if any man shall tell it you.

  17. For we know that the law is spiritual. But I am carnal, sold under sin.

  18. For that which I work, I understand not. For I do not that good which I will: but the evil which I hate, that I do.

  19. If then I do that which I will not, I consent to the law, that it is good.

  20. Now then it is no more I that do it: but sin that dwelleth in me.

  21. For I know that there dwelleth not in me, that is to say, in my flesh, that which is good. For to will is present with me: but to accomplish that which is good, I find not.

  22. Neither let us tempt Christ, as some of them tempted and perished by the serpent.

  23. Take heed, brethren, lest perhaps there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief, to depart from the living God.
