  1. and I will purge out from among you the rebels, and them that transgress against me; I will bring them forth out of the land where they sojourn, but they shall not enter into the land of Israel: and ye shall know that I am Jehovah.

  2. And thou shalt say to the rebellious, even to the house of Israel, Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: O ye house of Israel, let it suffice you of all your abominations,

  3. we have sinned, and have dealt perversely, and have done wickedly, and have rebelled, even turning aside from thy precepts and from thine ordinances;

  4. To the Lord our God belong mercies and forgiveness; for we have rebelled against him;

  5. And they have not cried unto me with their heart, but they howl upon their beds: they assemble themselves for grain and new wine; they rebel against me.

  6. Samaria shall bear her guilt; for she hath rebelled against her God: they shall fall by the sword; their infants shall be dashed in pieces, and their women with child shall be ripped up.

  9. For out of the heart come forth evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, railings:

  10. And again he sent unto them another servant; and him they wounded in the head, and handled shamefully.

  11. And he sent another; and him they killed: and many others; beating some, and killing some.

  12. He had yet one, a beloved son: he sent him last unto them, saying, They will reverence my son.

  13. But those husbandmen said among themselves, This is the heir; come, let us kill him, and the inheritance shall be ours.

  14. And they took him, and killed him, and cast him forth out of the vineyard.

  15. If I had not come and spoken unto them, they had not had sin: but now they have no excuse for their sin.

  16. Behold, ye despisers, and wonder, and perish; For I work a work in your days, A work which ye shall in no wise believe, if one declare it unto you.

  17. For we know that the law is spiritual: but I am carnal, sold under sin.

  18. For that which I do I know not: for not what I would, that do I practise; but what I hate, that I do.

  19. But if what I would not, that I do, I consent unto the law that it is good.

  20. So now it is no more I that do it, but sin which dwelleth in me.

  21. For I know that in me, that is, in my flesh, dwelleth no good thing: for to will is present with me, but to do that which is good is not.

  22. Neither let us make trial of the Lord, as some of them made trial, and perished by the serpents.

  23. Take heed, brethren, lest haply there shall be in any one of you an evil heart of unbelief, in falling away from the living God:
