  1. Wherefore I take you to witness this day that I am clear from the blood of all men.

  2. For I have not spread to declare unto you all, the counsel of God.

  3. Take heed to yourselves and to the whole flock, wherein the Holy Ghost hath placed you bishops, to rule the Church of God which he hath purchased with his own blood.

  4. I know that after my departure ravening wolves will enter in among you, not sparing the flock.

  5. And of your own selves shall arise men speaking perverse things, to draw away disciples after them.

  6. Therefore watch, keeping in memory that for three years I ceased not with tears to admonish every one of you, night and day.

  7. And now I commend you to God and to the word of his grace, who is able to build up and to give an inheritance among all the sanctified.

  8. I have not coveted any man's silver, gold or apparel, as

  9. You yourselves know. For such things as were needful for me and them that are with me, these hands have furnished.

  10. I have shewed you all things, how that so labouring you ought to support the weak and to remember the word of the Lord Jesus, how he said: It is a more blessed thing to give, rather than to receive.

  11. And when he had said these things, kneeling down, he prayed with them all.

  12. And there was much weeping among them all. And falling on the neck of Paul, they kissed him,

  13. Being grieved most of all for the word which he had said, that they should see his face no more. And they brought him on his way to the ship.

  14. Unto the angel of the church of Ephesus write: These things saith he who holdeth the seven stars in his right hand, who walketh in the midst of the seven golden candlesticks:

  15. I know thy works and thy labour and thy patience and how thou canst not bear them that are evil. And thou hast tried them who say they are apostles and are not: and hast found them liars:

  16. And thou hast patience and hast endured for my name and hast not fainted.

  17. But I have somewhat against thee, because thou hast left thy first charity.

  18. Be mindful therefore from whence thou art fallen: and do penance and do the first works. Or else I come to thee and will move thy candlestick out of its place, except thou do penance.

  19. But this thou hast, that thou hatest the deeds of the Nicolaites, which I also hate.

  20. He that hath an ear let him hear what the Spirit saith to the churches: To him that overcometh I will give to eat of the tree of life which is in the paradise of my God.
