  1. And he said: While the child was yet alive, I fasted and wept for him: for I said: Who knoweth whether the Lord may not give him to me, and the child may live?

  8. LORD, thou hast heard the desire of the humble: thou wilt prepare their heart, thou wilt cause thine ear to hear:

  9. To judge the fatherless and the oppressed, that the man of the earth may no more oppress.

  10. There the sparrows shall make their nests. The highest of them is the house of the heron.

  11. The high hills are a refuge for the harts, the rock for the irchins.

  12. Blessed be the name of the Lord, from henceforth now and for ever.

  13. From the rising of the sun unto the going down of the same, the name of the Lord is worthy of praise.

  23. Thou shalt not keep company with them, even in burial: for thou hast destroyed thy land, thou hast slain thy people: the seed of the wicked shall not be named for ever.

  24. Prepare his children for slaughter for the iniquity of their fathers: they shall not rise up, nor inherit the land, nor fill the face of the world with cities.

  25. For I will pour out waters upon the thirsty ground, and streams upon the dry land: I will pour out my spirit upon thy seed, and my blessing upon thy stock.
