He came to his own homeland, yet his own people did not receive him.

Stop being amazed at my telling you that you must be born again from above!

Yes, indeed! I tell you that what we speak about, we know; and what we give evidence of, we have seen; but you people don’t accept our evidence!

If you people don’t believe me when I tell you about the things of the world, how will you believe me when I tell you about the things of heaven?

Those who trust in him are not judged; those who do not trust have been judged already, in that they have not trusted in the one who is God’s only and unique Son.

He testifies about what he has actually seen and heard, yet no one accepts what he says!

Whoever trusts in the Son has eternal life. But whoever disobeys the Son will not see that life but remains subject to God’s wrath.”

Yeshua answered, “Unless you people see signs and miracles, you simply will not trust!”

moreover, his word does not stay in you, because you don’t trust the one he sent.

but you won’t come to me in order to have life!

I have come in my Father’s name, and you don’t accept me; if someone else comes in his own name, him you will accept.

How can you trust? You’re busy collecting praise from each other, instead of seeking praise from God only.

For if you really believed Moshe, you would believe me; because it was about me that he wrote.

But if you don’t believe what he wrote, how are you going to believe what I say?”

I told you that you have seen but still don’t trust.

On hearing it, many of his talmidim said, “This is a hard word — who can bear to listen to it?”

But Yeshua, aware that his talmidim were grumbling about this, said to them, “This is a trap for you?

Suppose you were to see the Son of Man going back up to where he was before?

yet some among you do not trust.” (For Yeshua knew from the outset which ones would not trust him, also which one would betray him.)

From this time on, many of his talmidim turned back and no longer traveled around with him.

Yeshua answered them, “Didn’t I choose you, the Twelve? Yet one of you is an adversary.”

(He was speaking of Y’hudah Ben-Shim‘on, from K’riot; for this man — one of the Twelve! — was soon to betray him.)

(His brothers spoke this way because they had not put their trust in him.)

This is why I said to you that you will die in your sins; for if you do not trust that I AM [who I say I am], you will die in your sins.”

But as for me, because I tell the truth you don’t believe me.
