  9. Then Jeremiah said to all the people, both men and women, who were answering him,

  19. And Jeremiah said to Seraiah, “When you get to Babylon, see that you read all these words aloud,

  20. Then you are to say, ‘In the same way Babylon will sink and never rise again, because of the disaster I will bring upon her. And her people will grow weary.’” Here end the words of Jeremiah.

  21. in the first year of his reign, I, Daniel, understood from the sacred books, according to the word of the LORD to Jeremiah the prophet, that the desolation of Jerusalem would last seventy years.

  23. They replied, “Some say John the Baptist; others say Elijah; and still others, Jeremiah or one of the prophets.”
