  1. And if the ear shall say, Because I am not the eye, I am not of the body; it is not therefore not of the body.

  2. If the whole body were an eye, where were the hearing? If the whole were hearing, where were the smelling?

  3. But now hath God set the members each one of them in the body, even as it pleased him.

  4. And if they were all one member, where were the body?

  5. But now they are many members, but one body.

  6. And the eye cannot say to the hand, I have no need of thee: or again the head to the feet, I have no need of you.

  7. Nay, much rather, those members of the body which seem to be more feeble are necessary:

  8. and those parts of the body, which we think to be less honorable, upon these we bestow more abundant honor; and our uncomely parts have more abundant comeliness;

  9. whereas our comely parts have no need: but God tempered the body together, giving more abundant honor to that part which lacked;

  10. that there should be no schism in the body; but that the members should have the same care one for another.

  11. And whether one member suffereth, all the members suffer with it; or one member is honored, all the members rejoice with it.

  12. Now ye are the body of Christ, and severally members thereof.

  13. doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not its own, is not provoked, taketh not account of evil;

  14. For the love of Christ constraineth us; because we thus judge, that one died for all, therefore all died;

  15. and he died for all, that they that live should no longer live unto themselves, but unto him who for their sakes died and rose again.

  16. For ye know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that, though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, that ye through his poverty might become rich.

  17. Bear ye one another’s burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ.

  18. among whom we also all once lived in the lusts of our flesh, doing the desires of the flesh and of the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, even as the rest:—

  19. not looking each of you to his own things, but each of you also to the things of others.

  20. For I have no man likeminded, who will care truly for your state.

  21. For they all seek their own, not the things of Jesus Christ.

  22. But know this, that in the last days grievous times shall come.

  23. For men shall be lovers of self, lovers of money, boastful, haughty, railers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,

  24. without natural affection, implacable, slanderers, without self-control, fierce, no lovers of good,

  25. traitors, headstrong, puffed up, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God;
