  1. And Moses returned unto Jehovah, and said, Oh, this people have sinned a great sin, and have made them gods of gold.

  2. Yet now, if thou wilt forgive their sin—; and if not, blot me, I pray thee, out of thy book which thou hast written.

  6. For I was afraid of the anger and hot displeasure, wherewith Jehovah was wroth against you to destroy you. But Jehovah hearkened unto me that time also.

  7. Now therefore fear Jehovah, and serve him in sincerity and in truth; and put away the gods which your fathers served beyond the River, and in Egypt; and serve ye Jehovah.

  8. And if it seem evil unto you to serve Jehovah, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were beyond the River, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve Jehovah.

  9. And the people answered and said, Far be it from us that we should forsake Jehovah, to serve other gods;

  10. And David spake to the men that stood by him, saying, What shall be done to the man that killeth this Philistine, and taketh away the reproach from Israel? for who is this uncircumcised Philistine, that he should defy the armies of the living God?

  11. (for they shall hear of thy great name, and of thy mighty hand, and of thine outstretched arm); when he shall come and pray toward this house;

  12. hear thou in heaven thy dwelling-place, and do according to all that the foreigner calleth to thee for; that all the peoples of the earth may know thy name, to fear thee, as doth thy people Israel, and that they may know that this house which I have built is called by thy name.

  13. And Micaiah said, As Jehovah liveth, what Jehovah saith unto me, that will I speak.

  14. then hear thou from heaven, even from thy dwelling-place, and do according to all that the foreigner calleth to thee for; that all the peoples of the earth may know thy name, and fear thee, as doth thy people Israel, and that they may know that this house which I have built is called by thy name.

  15. And be it still my consolation, Yea, let me exult in pain that spareth not, That I have not denied the words of the Holy One.

  16. Arise, O Jehovah; let not man prevail: Let the nations be judged in thy sight.

  17. Put them in fear, O Jehovah: Let the nations know themselves to be but men. [Selah

  18. Then said I, Lo, I am come; In the roll of the book it is written of me:

  19. I delight to do thy will, O my God; Yea, thy law is within my heart.

  20. I have proclaimed glad tidings of righteousness in the great assembly; Lo, I will not refrain my lips, O Jehovah, thou knowest.

  21. I have not hid thy righteousness within my heart; I have declared thy faithfulness and thy salvation; I have not concealed thy lovingkindness and thy truth from the great assembly.

  22. Then will I teach transgressors thy ways; And sinners shall be converted unto thee.

  23. Because for thy sake I have borne reproach; Shame hath covered my face.

  24. I am become a stranger unto my brethren, And an alien unto my mother’s children.

  25. For the zeal of thy house hath eaten me up; And the reproaches of them that reproach thee are fallen upon me.
