  1. Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except one be born anew, he cannot see the kingdom of God.

  12. For the good which I would I do not: but the evil which I would not, that I practise.

  13. But if what I would not, that I do, it is no more I that do it, but sin which dwelleth in me.

  14. I find then the law, that, to me who would do good, evil is present.

  15. For I delight in the law of God after the inward man:

  16. but I see a different law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity under the law of sin which is in my members.

  17. Wretched man that I am! who shall deliver me out of the body of this death?

  18. I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord. So then I of myself with the mind, indeed, serve the law of God; but with the flesh the law of sin.

  19. Seeing it is God, that said, Light shall shine out of darkness, who shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.

  20. But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the exceeding greatness of the power may be of God, and not from ourselves;

  21. For we know that if the earthly house of our tabernacle be dissolved, we have a building from God, a house not made with hands, eternal, in the heavens.

  22. For verily in this we groan, longing to be clothed upon with our habitation which is from heaven:

  23. if so be that being clothed we shall not be found naked.

  24. For indeed we that are in this tabernacle do groan, being burdened; not for that we would be unclothed, but that we would be clothed upon, that what is mortal may be swallowed up of life.

  25. Now he that wrought us for this very thing is God, who gave unto us the earnest of the Spirit.
