  2. in that they show the work of the law written in their hearts, their conscience bearing witness therewith, and their thoughts one with another accusing or else excusing them);

  3. in the day when God shall judge the secrets of men, according to my gospel, by Jesus Christ.

  4. But thou, why dost thou judge thy brother? or thou again, why dost thou set at nought thy brother? for we shall all stand before the judgment-seat of God.

  5. For it is written, As I live, saith the Lord, to me every knee shall bow, And every tongue shall confess to God.

  6. So then each one of us shall give account of himself to God.

  7. and to you that are afflicted rest with us, at the revelation of the Lord Jesus from heaven with the angels of his power in flaming fire,

  8. rendering vengeance to them that know not God, and to them that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus:

  9. But the day of the Lord will come as a thief; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall be dissolved with fervent heat, and the earth and the works that are therein shall be burned up.

  10. Seeing that these things are thus all to be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy living and godliness,

  11. looking for and earnestly desiring the coming of the day of God, by reason of which the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat?

  12. And to these also Enoch, the seventh from Adam, prophesied, saying, Behold, the Lord came with ten thousands of his holy ones,

  13. to execute judgment upon all, and to convict all the ungodly of all their works of ungodliness which they have ungodly wrought, and of all the hard things which ungodly sinners have spoken against him.

  14. And the kings of the earth, and the princes, and the chief captains, and the rich, and the strong, and every bondman and freeman, hid themselves in the caves and in the rocks of the mountains;

  15. and they say to the mountains and to the rocks, Fall on us, and hide us from the face of him that sitteth on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb:

  16. for the great day of their wrath is come; and who is able to stand?

  17. And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat upon it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them.

  18. And I saw the dead, the great and the small, standing before the throne; and books were opened: and another book was opened, which isthe bookof life: and the dead were judged out of the things which were written in the books, according to their works.

  19. And the sea gave up the dead that were in it; and death and Hades gave up the dead that were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works.

  20. And death and Hades were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death, eventhe lake of fire.

  21. And if any was not found written in the book of life, he was cast into the lake of fire.
