  1. Indeed, when Gentiles, who do not have the law, do by nature what the law requires, they are a law to themselves, even though they do not have the law.

  10. Since everything will be destroyed in this way, what kind of people ought you to be? You ought to conduct yourselves in holiness and godliness

  11. as you anticipate and hasten the coming of the day of God, when the heavens will be destroyed by fire and the elements will melt in the heat.

  12. Enoch, the seventh from Adam, also prophesied about them: “Behold, the Lord is coming with myriads of His holy ones

  13. to execute judgment on everyone, and to convict all the ungodly of every ungodly act of wickedness and every harsh word spoken against Him by ungodly sinners.”

  14. Then the kings of the earth, the nobles, the commanders, the rich, the mighty, and every slave and free man hid in the caves and among the rocks of the mountains.

  15. And they said to the mountains and the rocks, “Fall on us and hide us from the face of the One seated on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb.

  16. For the great day of Their wrath has come, and who is able to withstand it?”

  17. Then I saw a great white throne and the One seated on it. Earth and heaven fled from His presence, and no place was found for them.

  18. And I saw the dead, great and small, standing before the throne. And there were open books, and one of them was the Book of Life. And the dead were judged according to their deeds, as recorded in the books.

  19. The sea gave up its dead, and Death and Hades gave up their dead, and each one was judged according to his deeds.

  20. Then Death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. This is the second death—the lake of fire.

  21. And if anyone was found whose name was not written in the Book of Life, he was thrown into the lake of fire.
