  1. And it came to pass in those days, that Jesus came from Nazareth of Galilee, and was baptized of John in the Jordan.

  12. The baptism of John, was it from heaven, or from men? answer me.

  13. But should we say, From men—they feared the people: for all verily held John to be a prophet.

  14. But the angel said unto him, Fear not, Zacharias: because thy supplication is heard, and thy wife Elisabeth shall bear thee a son, and thou shalt call his name John.

  15. And his mother answered and said, Not so; but he shall be called John.

  16. And he asked for a writing tablet, and wrote, saying, His name is John. And they marvelled all.

  22. And the disciples of John told him of all these things.

  23. And John calling unto him two of his disciples sent them to the Lord, saying, Art thou he that cometh, or look we for another?

  24. And when the men were come unto him, they said, John the Baptist hath sent us unto thee, saying, Art thou he that cometh, or look we for another?

  25. And he answered and said unto them, Go and tell John the things which ye have seen and heard; the blind receive their sight, the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, and the deaf hear, the dead are raised up, the poor have good tidings preached to them.
