  1. because of the tender mercy of our God, whereby the dawn from on high will visit us,

  3. The angel said to them, “Don’t be afraid, for behold, I bring you good news of great joy which will be to all the people.

  8. “The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because he has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to heal the broken hearted, to proclaim release to the captives, recovering of sight to the blind, to deliver those who are crushed,

  9. and to proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord.”

  10. Turning to the disciples, he said privately, “Blessed are the eyes which see the things that you see,

  11. for I tell you that many prophets and kings desired to see the things which you see, and didn’t see them, and to hear the things which you hear, and didn’t hear them.”

  12. Being asked by the Pharisees when the Kingdom of God would come, he answered them, “The Kingdom of God doesn’t come with observation;

  13. neither will they say, ‘Look, here!’ or, ‘Look, there!’ for behold, the Kingdom of God is within you.”

  14. From his fullness we all received grace upon grace.

  15. For the Torah was given through Moses. Grace and truth were realized through Yeshua the Messiah.

  16. Now they have known that all things whatever you have given me are from you,

  17. for the words which you have given me I have given to them, and they received them, and knew for sure that I came from you, and they have believed that you sent me.

  18. We bring you good news of the promise made to the fathers,

  19. that God has fulfilled the same to us, their children, in that he raised up Yeshua. As it is also written in the second psalm, ‘You are my Son. Today I have become your father.’

  20. For I am not ashamed of the Good News of Messiah, for it is the power of God for salvation for everyone who believes; for the Jew first, and also for the Greek.

  21. For in it is revealed God’s righteousness from faith to faith. As it is written, “But the righteous shall live by faith.”

  22. And how will they proclaim unless they are sent? As it is written: “How beautiful are the feet of those who proclaim the Good News of peace, who bring glad tidings of good things!”

  23. But they didn’t all listen to the glad news. For Isaiah says, “Lord, who has believed our report?”

  24. So faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

  25. But I say, didn’t they hear? Yes, most certainly, “Their sound went out into all the earth, their words to the ends of the world.”
