  2. And the way of peace have they not known:

  3. There is no fear of God before their eyes.

  4. For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit.

  5. Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be.

  6. So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God.

  7. That is, They which are the children of the flesh, these are not the children of God: but the children of the promise are counted for the seed.

  9. Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience:

  10. Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others.

  11. That at that time ye were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope, and without God in the world:

  12. ¶ This I say therefore, and testify in the Lord, that ye henceforth walk not as other Gentiles walk, in the vanity of their mind,

  13. Having the understanding darkened, being alienated from the life of God through the ignorance that is in them, because of the blindness of their heart:

  14. Who being past feeling have given themselves over unto lasciviousness, to work all uncleanness with greediness.

  15. And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them.

  16. For it is a shame even to speak of those things which are done of them in secret.

  17. That ye may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom ye shine as lights in the world;

  18. And you, that were sometime alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now hath he reconciled

  19. For they that sleep sleep in the night; and they that be drunken are drunken in the night.

  20. In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ:

  21. Knowing this, that the law is not made for a righteous man, but for the lawless and disobedient, for the ungodly and for sinners, for unholy and profane, for murderers of fathers and murderers of mothers, for manslayers,

  22. For whoremongers, for them that defile themselves with mankind, for menstealers, for liars, for perjured persons, and if there be any other thing that is contrary to sound doctrine;

  23. For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,

  24. Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good,

  25. Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;
