  1. I will hear thee, said he, when thine accusers are also come. And he commanded him to be kept in Herod's judgment hall.

  2. ¶ Now when Festus was come into the province, after three days he ascended from Caesarea to Jerusalem.

  3. For if I be an offender, or have committed any thing worthy of death, I refuse not to die: but if there be none of these things whereof these accuse me, no man may deliver me unto them. I appeal unto Caesar.

  4. Then Festus, when he had conferred with the council, answered, Hast thou appealed unto Caesar? unto Caesar shalt thou go.

  5. To whom I answered, It is not the manner of the Romans to deliver any man to die, before that he which is accused have the accusers face to face, and have licence to answer for himself concerning the crime laid against him.

  6. Therefore, when they were come hither, without any delay on the morrow I sat on the judgment seat, and commanded the man to be brought forth.

  7. Against whom when the accusers stood up, they brought none accusation of such things as I supposed:

  8. But had certain questions against him of their own superstition, and of one Jesus, which was dead, whom Paul affirmed to be alive.

  9. Then said Agrippa unto Festus, This man might have been set at liberty, if he had not appealed unto Caesar.

  10. ¶ And when it was determined that we should sail into Italy, they delivered Paul and certain other prisoners unto one named Julius, a centurion of Augustus' band.

  11. And when we came to Rome, the centurion delivered the prisoners to the captain of the guard: but Paul was suffered to dwell by himself with a soldier that kept him.

  12. The night is far spent, the day is at hand: let us therefore cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armour of light.

  13. For I think that God hath set forth us the apostles last, as it were appointed to death: for we are made a spectacle unto the world, and to angels, and to men.

  14. ¶ Know ye not that they which run in a race run all, but one receiveth the prize? So run, that ye may obtain.

  15. And every man that striveth for the mastery is temperate in all things. Now they do it to obtain a corruptible crown; but we an incorruptible.

  16. But I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway.

  17. If after the manner of men I have fought with beasts at Ephesus, what advantageth it me, if the dead rise not? let us eat and drink; for to morrow we die.

  18. Now thanks be unto God, which always causeth us to triumph in Christ, and maketh manifest the savour of his knowledge by us in every place.

  19. For we are unto God a sweet savour of Christ, in them that are saved, and in them that perish:

  20. To the one we are the savour of death unto death; and to the other the savour of life unto life. And who is sufficient for these things?

  21. By the word of truth, by the power of God, by the armour of righteousness on the right hand and on the left,

  22. Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.

  23. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

  24. Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.

  25. Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;
