  1. The sun and moon stood still in their habitation: at the light of thine arrows they went, and at the shining of thy glittering spear.

  13. Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness' sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

  14. Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake.

  15. Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you.

  16. Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men.

  17. Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid.

  18. Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house.

  19. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.

  20. Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they?

  22. And why take ye thought for raiment? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin:

  23. And yet I say unto you, That even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.

  24. Wherefore, if God so clothe the grass of the field, which to day is, and to morrow is cast into the oven, shall he not much more clothe you, O ye of little faith?

  25. Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed?
