  1. Destroy thou them, O God; let them fall by their own counsels; cast them out in the multitude of their transgressions; for they have rebelled against thee.

  2. But let all those that put their trust in thee rejoice: let them ever shout for joy, because thou defendest them: let them also that love thy name be joyful in thee.

  3. For thou, LORD, wilt bless the righteous; with favour wilt thou compass him as with a shield.

  4. ¶ To the chief Musician, A Psalm of David. In the LORD put I my trust: how say ye to my soul, Flee as a bird to your mountain?

  7. ¶ The LORD is in his holy temple, the LORD'S throne is in heaven: his eyes behold, his eyelids try, the children of men.

  8. The LORD trieth the righteous: but the wicked and him that loveth violence his soul hateth.

  9. Upon the wicked he shall rain snares, fire and brimstone, and an horrible tempest: this shall be the portion of their cup.

  10. For the righteous LORD loveth righteousness; his countenance doth behold the upright.

  11. ¶ To the chief Musician, A Psalm of David. How long wilt thou forget me, O LORD? for ever? how long wilt thou hide thy face from me?

  12. How long shall I take counsel in my soul, having sorrow in my heart daily? how long shall mine enemy be exalted over me?

  13. Consider and hear me, O LORD my God: lighten mine eyes, lest I sleep the sleep of death;

  14. Lest mine enemy say, I have prevailed against him; and those that trouble me rejoice when I am moved.

  15. But I have trusted in thy mercy; my heart shall rejoice in thy salvation.

  16. I will sing unto the LORD, because he hath dealt bountifully with me.

  17. ¶ Michtam of David. Preserve me, O God: for in thee do I put my trust.

  18. O my soul, thou hast said unto the LORD, Thou art my Lord: my goodness extendeth not to thee;

  19. But to the saints that are in the earth, and to the excellent, in whom is all my delight.

  20. Their sorrows shall be multiplied that hasten after another god: their drink offerings of blood will I not offer, nor take up their names into my lips.

  21. The LORD is the portion of mine inheritance and of my cup: thou maintainest my lot.

  22. The lines are fallen unto me in pleasant places; yea, I have a goodly heritage.

  23. I will bless the LORD, who hath given me counsel: my reins also instruct me in the night seasons.

  24. ¶ I have set the LORD always before me: because he is at my right hand, I shall not be moved.

  25. Therefore my heart is glad, and my glory rejoiceth: my flesh also shall rest in hope.
