That the generation to come might know them, even the children which should be born; who should arise and declare them to their children:
Like as a father pitieth his children, so the LORD pitieth them that fear him.
For whom the LORD loveth he correcteth; even as a father the son in whom he delighteth.
¶ A good man leaveth an inheritance to his children's children: and the wealth of the sinner is laid up for the just.
¶ He that spareth his rod hateth his son: but he that loveth him chasteneth him betimes.
¶ Chasten thy son while there is hope, and let not thy soul spare for his crying.
