  1. Then said Jesus unto him, Except ye see signs and wonders, ye will not believe.

  2. But I have greater witness than that of John: for the works which the Father hath given me to finish, the same works that I do, bear witness of me, that the Father hath sent me.

  3. Jesus answered, Neither hath this man sinned, nor his parents: but that the works of God should be made manifest in him.

  4. When Jesus heard that, he said, This sickness is not unto death, but for the glory of God, that the Son of God might be glorified thereby.

  8. Ye men of Israel, hear these words; Jesus of Nazareth, a man approved of God among you by miracles and wonders and signs, which God did by him in the midst of you, as ye yourselves also know:

  9. ¶ Now Peter and John went up together into the temple at the hour of prayer, being the ninth hour.

  10. And a certain man lame from his mother's womb was carried, whom they laid daily at the gate of the temple which is called Beautiful, to ask alms of them that entered into the temple;

  11. Who seeing Peter and John about to go into the temple asked an alms.

  12. And Peter, fastening his eyes upon him with John, said, Look on us.

  13. And he gave heed unto them, expecting to receive something of them.

  14. Then Peter said, Silver and gold have I none; but such as I have give I thee: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk.

  15. And he took him by the right hand, and lifted him up: and immediately his feet and ankle bones received strength.

  16. And he leaping up stood, and walked, and entered with them into the temple, walking, and leaping, and praising God.

  17. And all the people saw him walking and praising God:

  18. And they knew that it was he which sat for alms at the Beautiful gate of the temple: and they were filled with wonder and amazement at that which had happened unto him.

  19. So when they had further threatened them, they let them go, finding nothing how they might punish them, because of the people: for all men glorified God for that which was done.

  20. For the man was above forty years old, on whom this miracle of healing was shewed.
