  1. Neither shall he regard the God of his fathers, nor the desire of women, nor regard any god: for he shall magnify himself above all.

  2. Now therefore hear thou the word of the LORD: Thou sayest, Prophesy not against Israel, and drop not thy word against the house of Isaac.

  3. Therefore thus saith the LORD; Thy wife shall be an harlot in the city, and thy sons and thy daughters shall fall by the sword, and thy land shall be divided by line; and thou shalt die in a polluted land: and Israel shall surely go into captivity forth of his land.

  4. ¶ Your words have been stout against me, saith the LORD. Yet ye say, What have we spoken so much against thee?

  5. Ye have said, It is vain to serve God: and what profit is it that we have kept his ordinance, and that we have walked mournfully before the LORD of hosts?

  6. Then he which had received the one talent came and said, Lord, I knew thee that thou art an hard man, reaping where thou hast not sown, and gathering where thou hast not strawed:

  7. And I was afraid, and went and hid thy talent in the earth: lo, there thou hast that is thine.

  8. His lord answered and said unto him, Thou wicked and slothful servant, thou knewest that I reap where I sowed not, and gather where I have not strawed:

  9. Thou oughtest therefore to have put my money to the exchangers, and then at my coming I should have received mine own with usury.

  10. And they that passed by reviled him, wagging their heads,

  11. And saying, Thou that destroyest the temple, and buildest it in three days, save thyself. If thou be the Son of God, come down from the cross.

  12. Likewise also the chief priests mocking him, with the scribes and elders, said,

  13. He saved others; himself he cannot save. If he be the King of Israel, let him now come down from the cross, and we will believe him.

  14. He trusted in God; let him deliver him now, if he will have him: for he said, I am the Son of God.

  15. The thieves also, which were crucified with him, cast the same in his teeth.

  16. Nay but, O man, who art thou that repliest against God? Shall the thing formed say to him that formed it, Why hast thou made me thus?

  17. Hath not the potter power over the clay, of the same lump to make one vessel unto honour, and another unto dishonour?

  18. ¶ Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts,

  19. And saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation.

  20. For this they willingly are ignorant of, that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of the water and in the water:

  21. How that they told you there should be mockers in the last time, who should walk after their own ungodly lusts.

  22. These be they who separate themselves, sensual, having not the Spirit.
