  1. Judge me, O LORD my God, according to thy righteousness; and let them not rejoice over me.

  2. Let them not say in their hearts, Ah, so would we have it: let them not say, We have swallowed him up.

  3. Let them be ashamed and brought to confusion together that rejoice at mine hurt: let them be clothed with shame and dishonour that magnify themselves against me.

  4. Let them shout for joy, and be glad, that favour my righteous cause: yea, let them say continually, Let the LORD be magnified, which hath pleasure in the prosperity of his servant.

  5. And my tongue shall speak of thy righteousness and of thy praise all the day long.

  6. ¶ Rejoice not when thine enemy falleth, and let not thine heart be glad when he stumbleth:

  7. Lest the LORD see it, and it displease him, and he turn away his wrath from him.

  8. ¶ If thine enemy be hungry, give him bread to eat; and if he be thirsty, give him water to drink:

  9. For thou shalt heap coals of fire upon his head, and the LORD shall reward thee.

  10. Ye have heard that it hath been said, Thou shalt love thy neighbour, and hate thine enemy.

  11. But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;

  12. That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust.

  13. For if ye love them which love you, what reward have ye? do not even the publicans the same?

  14. And if ye salute your brethren only, what do ye more than others? do not even the publicans so?

  15. Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.

  16. But I say unto you which hear, Love your enemies, do good to them which hate you,

  17. Bless them that curse you, and pray for them which despitefully use you.

  18. And unto him that smiteth thee on the one cheek offer also the other; and him that taketh away thy cloke forbid not to take thy coat also.

  19. Give to every man that asketh of thee; and of him that taketh away thy goods ask them not again.

  20. And as ye would that men should do to you, do ye also to them likewise.

  21. For if ye love them which love you, what thank have ye? for sinners also love those that love them.

  22. And if ye do good to them which do good to you, what thank have ye? for sinners also do even the same.

  23. And if ye lend to them of whom ye hope to receive, what thank have ye? for sinners also lend to sinners, to receive as much again.

  24. But love ye your enemies, and do good, and lend, hoping for nothing again; and your reward shall be great, and ye shall be the children of the Highest: for he is kind unto the unthankful and to the evil.

  25. Be ye therefore merciful, as your Father also is merciful.
