  1. Give not thy strength unto women, nor thy ways to that which destroyeth kings.

  2. ¶ But draw near hither, ye sons of the sorceress, the seed of the adulterer and the whore.

  3. Against whom do ye sport yourselves? against whom make ye a wide mouth, and draw out the tongue? are ye not children of transgression, a seed of falsehood,

  7. Will ye steal, murder, and commit adultery, and swear falsely, and burn incense unto Baal, and walk after other gods whom ye know not;

  8. And come and stand before me in this house, which is called by my name, and say, We are delivered to do all these abominations?

  9. For the land is full of adulterers; for because of swearing the land mourneth; the pleasant places of the wilderness are dried up, and their course is evil, and their force is not right.

  10. But if a man be just, and do that which is lawful and right,

  11. And hath not eaten upon the mountains, neither hath lifted up his eyes to the idols of the house of Israel, neither hath defiled his neighbour's wife, neither hath come near to a menstruous woman,

  12. Hath walked in my statutes, and hath kept my judgments, to deal truly; he is just, he shall surely live, saith the Lord GOD.

  13. ¶ Hear the word of the LORD, ye children of Israel: for the LORD hath a controversy with the inhabitants of the land, because there is no truth, nor mercy, nor knowledge of God in the land.

  14. By swearing, and lying, and killing, and stealing, and committing adultery, they break out, and blood toucheth blood.

  15. Whoredom and wine and new wine take away the heart.

  16. But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart.

  17. But I say unto you, That whosoever shall put away his wife, saving for the cause of fornication, causeth her to commit adultery: and whosoever shall marry her that is divorced committeth adultery.

  18. For out of the heart proceed evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, blasphemies:

  19. And I say unto you, Whosoever shall put away his wife, except it be for fornication, and shall marry another, committeth adultery: and whoso marrieth her which is put away doth commit adultery.

  20. For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders,

  21. And he saith unto them, Whosoever shall put away his wife, and marry another, committeth adultery against her.

  22. And if a woman shall put away her husband, and be married to another, she committeth adultery.

  23. Thou knowest the commandments, Do not commit adultery, Do not kill, Do not steal, Do not bear false witness, Defraud not, Honour thy father and mother.

  24. Whosoever putteth away his wife, and marrieth another, committeth adultery: and whosoever marrieth her that is put away from her husband committeth adultery.

  25. But that we write unto them, that they abstain from pollutions of idols, and from fornication, and from things strangled, and from blood.
