  1. ¶ But God came to Abimelech in a dream by night, and said to him, Behold, thou art but a dead man, for the woman which thou hast taken; for she is a man's wife.

  2. Howbeit, because by this deed thou hast given great occasion to the enemies of the LORD to blaspheme, the child also that is born unto thee shall surely die.

  3. The eye also of the adulterer waiteth for the twilight, saying, No eye shall see me: and disguiseth his face.

  10. For this is an heinous crime; yea, it is an iniquity to be punished by the judges.

  11. For it is a fire that consumeth to destruction, and would root out all mine increase.

  12. To deliver thee from the strange woman, even from the stranger which flattereth with her words;

  13. Which forsaketh the guide of her youth, and forgetteth the covenant of her God.

  14. For her house inclineth unto death, and her paths unto the dead.

  15. None that go unto her return again, neither take they hold of the paths of life.

  16. For the lips of a strange woman drop as an honeycomb, and her mouth is smoother than oil:

  17. But her end is bitter as wormwood, sharp as a twoedged sword.

  18. Her feet go down to death; her steps take hold on hell.

  19. Lest thou shouldest ponder the path of life, her ways are moveable, that thou canst not know them.

  20. Hear me now therefore, O ye children, and depart not from the words of my mouth.

  21. Remove thy way far from her, and come not nigh the door of her house:

  22. Lest thou give thine honour unto others, and thy years unto the cruel:

  23. Lest strangers be filled with thy wealth; and thy labours be in the house of a stranger;

  24. And thou mourn at the last, when thy flesh and thy body are consumed,

  25. And say, How have I hated instruction, and my heart despised reproof;
