  1. Assoone therefore as he was risen from the dead, his disciples remembred that hee thus sayde vnto them: and they beleeued the Scripture, and the worde which Iesus had saide.

  2. Searche the Scriptures: for in them ye thinke to haue eternall life, and they are they which testifie of me.

  9. Sanctifie them with thy trueth: thy word is trueth.

  10. But these things are written, that ye might beleeue, that Iesus is that Christ that Sonne of God, and that in beleeuing ye might haue life through his Name.

  11. Yee men and brethren, this scripture must needes haue beene fulfilled, which the holy Ghost by the mouth of Dauid spake before of Iudas, which was guide to them that tooke Iesus.

  12. To him also giue all the Prophets witnesse, that through his Name all that beleeue in him, shall receiue remission of sinnes.

  13. And after the lecture of the Law and Prophets, the rulers of ye Synagogue sent vnto them, saying, Ye men and brethren, if ye haue any word of exhortation for the people, say on.

  14. For the inhabitants of Hierusalem, and their rulers, because they knewe him not, nor yet the woordes of the Prophets, which are read euery Sabbath day, they haue fulfilled them in condemning him.

  15. These were also more noble men then they which were at Thessalonica, which receiued the woorde with all readinesse, and searched the Scriptures daily, whether those things were so.

  16. For mightily hee confuted publikely the Iewes, with great vehemencie, shewing by the Scriptures, that Iesus was that Christ.

  17. And nowe brethren, I commend you to God, and to the worde of his grace, which is able to build further, and to giue you an inheritance, among all them, which are sanctified.

  18. (Which he had promised afore by his Prophetes in the holy Scriptures)

  19. Much euery maner of way: for chiefly, because vnto them were of credite committed the oracles of God.

  20. For whatsoeuer things are written aforetime, are writte for our learning, that we through patience, and comfort of the Scriptures might haue hope.

  21. (But nowe is opened, and published among all nations by the Scriptures of the Prophetes, at the commandement of the euerlasting God for the obedience of faith)

  22. That, according as it is written, Hee that reioyceth, let him reioyce in the Lord.

  23. But God hath reueiled them vnto vs by his Spirit: for the spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deepe things of God.

  24. For what man knoweth the things of a man, saue the spirite of a man, which is in him? euen so the things of God knoweth no man, but the spirit of God.

  25. Nowe we haue receiued not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit, which is of God, that we might knowe the thinges that are giuen to vs of God.
