  1. Beholde, blessed is the man whome God correcteth: therefore refuse not thou the chastising of the Almightie.

  16. And I can be abased, and I can abounde: euery where in all things I am instructed, both to be full, and to be hungrie, and to abounde, and to haue want.

  17. I am able to do al things through the helpe of Christ, which strengtheneth me.

  18. Strengthened with all might through his glorious power, vnto all patience, and long suffering with ioyfulnesse,

  19. That no man should be moued with these afflictions: for ye your selues knowe, that we are appointed thereunto.

  20. Thou therefore suffer affliction as a good souldier of Iesus Christ.

  21. But watch thou in all thinges: suffer aduersitie: doe the worke of an Euangelist: cause thy ministerie to be throughly liked of.

  22. For both ye sorowed with mee for my bonds, and suffered with ioy the spoyling of your goods, knowing in your selues howe that ye haue in heauen a better, and an enduring substance.

  23. Consider therefore him that endured such speaking against of sinners, lest ye should be wearied and faint in your mindes.

  24. Ye haue not yet resisted vnto blood, striuing against sinne.

  25. And ye haue forgotten the consolation, which speaketh vnto you as vnto children, My sonne, despise not the chastening of the Lord, neither faint when thou art rebuked of him.
