  1. But the eyes of the wicked shall faile, and their refuge shall perish, and their hope shalbe sorow of minde.

  2. Because I haue called, and ye refused: I haue stretched out mine hand, and none woulde regarde.

  3. But ye haue despised all my counsell, and would none of my correction.

  4. I will also laugh at your destruction, and mocke, when your feare commeth.

  5. Whe your feare cometh like sudden desolation, and your destruction shall come like a whirle wind: whe affliction and anguish shall come vpon you,

  6. Then shall they call vpon me, but I will not answere: they shall seeke me early, but they shall not finde me,

  7. Because they hated knowledge, and did not chuse the feare of the Lord.

  8. They would none of my counsell, but despised all my correction.

  9. Therefore shall they eate of ye fruite of their owne way, and be filled with their owne deuises.

  10. Though hande ioyne in hande, the wicked shall not be vnpunished: but the seede of the righteous shall escape.

  11. All that are proude in heart, are an abomination to the Lord: though hand ioyne in hand, he shall not be vnpunished.

  12. A man that hardeneth his necke when he is rebuked, shall suddenly be destroyed and can not be cured.

  13. Therefore thus sayth the Lord, Beholde, I will bring a plague vpon them, which they shall not be able to escape, and though they crye vnto me, I will not heare them.

  14. Then sayde the Lord vnto me, Though Moses and Samuel stoode before mee, yet mine affection coulde not be toward this people: cast them out of my sight, and let them depart.

  15. But if they refuse to take the cuppe at thine hande to drinke, then tell them, Thus saith the Lord of hostes, Ye shall certainely drinke.

  16. For loe, I beginne to plague the citie, where my Name is called vpon, and shoulde you goe free? Ye shall not goe quite: for I will call for a sword vpon al the inhabitants of the earth, saith the Lord of hostes.

  17. They shall cast their siluer in the streetes, and their golde shalbe cast farre off: their siluer and their gold can not deliuer them in the day of the wrath of the Lord: they shall not satisfie their soules, neither fill their bowels: for this ruine is for their iniquitie.

  18. Therefore the flight shall perish from the swift, and the strong shall not strengthen his force, neither shall the mightie saue his life.

  19. Nor he that handleth the bowe, shall stand, and he that is swift of foote, shall not escape, neyther shall he that rideth the horse, saue his life.

  20. And he that is of a mighty courage among the strong men, shall flee away naked in that day, sayth the Lord.

  21. Neither their siluer nor their golde shalbe able to deliuer them in ye day of the Lords wrath, but the whole lande shalbe deuoured by the fire of his ielousie: for hee shall make euen a speedie riddance of all them that dwell in the land.

  22. And feare yee not them which kill the bodie, but are nor able to kill the soule: but rather feare him, which is able to destroy both soule and bodie in hell.

  23. O serpents, the generation of vipers, howe should ye escape the damnation of hell!

  24. And thinkest thou this, O thou man, that condemnest them which doe such thinges, and doest the same, that thou shalt escape the iudgement of God?

  25. But he that doeth wrong, shall receiue for the wrong that he hath done: and there is no respect of persons.
