  1. For thou verely giuest thankes well, but the other is not edified.

  8. For wee are vnto God the sweete sauour of Christ, in them that are saued, and in them which perish.

  9. To the one we are the sauour of death, vnto death, and to the other the sauour of life, vnto life: and who is sufficient for these things?

  10. Seeing then that we haue such trust, we vse great boldnesse of speach.

  11. If ye continue, grounded and stablished in the faith, and be not moued away from the hope of the Gospel, whereof ye haue heard, and which hath bene preached to euery creature which is vnder heauen, whereof I Paul am a minister.

  12. Now reioyce I in my suffrings for you, and fulfill the rest of the afflictions of Christ in my flesh, for his bodies sake, which is the Church,

  13. Whereof I am a minister, according to the dispensation of God, which is giuen mee vnto you ward, to fulfill the word of God,

  14. Which is the mysterie hid since the world began, and from all ages, but nowe is made manifest to his Saintes,

  15. To whome God woulde make knowen what is the riches of his glorious mysterie among the Gentiles, which riches is Christ in you, the hope of glory,

  16. Whome we preache, admonishing euery man, and teaching euery man in all wisdome, that we may present euery man perfect in Christ Iesus,

  17. Whereunto I also labour and striue, according to his working which worketh in me mightily.

  18. For our Gospell was not vnto you in worde only, but also in power, and in the holy Ghost, and in much assurance, as ye know after what maner we were among you for your sakes.

  19. For our exhortation was not by deceite, nor by vncleannes, nor by guile.

  20. But as we were allowed of God, that the Gospel should be committed vnto vs, so we speake, not as they that please men, but God, which approoueth our hearts.

  21. Neither yet did we euer vse flattering wordes, as ye knowe, nor coloured couetousnes, God is recorde.

  22. Neither sought we prayse of men, neither of you, nor of others, when we might haue bene chargeable, as the Apostles of Christ.

  23. But we were gentle among you, euen as a nource cherisheth her children.

  24. Thus being affectioned toward you, our good will was to haue dealt vnto you, not the Gospel of God onely, but also our owne soules, because ye were deare vnto vs.

  25. For ye remember, brethren, our labour and trauaile: for we laboured day and night, because we would not be chargeable vnto any of you, and preached vnto you the Gospel of God.
