  1. Hear this, you that crush the poor, and make the needy of the land to fail,

  2. Saying: When will the month be over, and we shall sell our wares: and the sabbath, and we shall open the corn: that we may lessen the measure, and increase the sicle, and may convey in deceitful balances,

  3. That we may possess the needy for money, and the poor for a pair of shoes, and may sell the refuse of the corn?

  4. I saw the Lord standing upon the altar, and he said: Strike the hinges, and let the lintels be shook: for there is covetousness in the head of them all, and I will slay the last of them with the sword: there shall be no flight for them: they shall flee, and he that shall flee of them shall not be delivered.

  5. And the Lord answered me, and said: Write the vision, and make it plain upon tables: that he that readeth it may run over it.

  6. I saw by night, and behold a man riding upon a red horse, and he stood among the myrtle trees, that were in the bottom: and behind him were horses, red, speckled, and white.

  7. And the Lord shewed me Jesus the high priest standing before the angel of the Lord: and Satan stood on his right hand to be his adversary.

  8. And he said to me: What seest thou? And I said: I have looked, and behold a candlestick all of gold, and its lamp upon the top of it: and the seven lights thereof upon it: and seven funnels for the lights that were upon the top thereof.

  9. And he said to me: What seest thou? And I said: I see a volume flying: the length thereof is twenty cubits, and the breadth thereof ten cubits.

  10. And I turned, and lifted up my eyes, and saw: and behold four chariots came out from the midst of two mountains: and the mountains were mountains of brass.

  11. And there appeared to him an angel of the Lord, standing on the right side of the altar of incense.

  12. And when he came out, he could not speak to them: and they understood that he had seen a vision in the temple. And he made signs to them and remained dumb.

  13. And not finding his body, came, saying that they had all seen a vision of angels, who say that he is alive.

  14. And when forty years were expired, there appeared to him, in the desert of mount Sina, an angel in a flame of fire in a bush.

  15. And Moses seeing it wondered at the sight. And as he drew near to view it, the voice of the Lord came unto him, saying:

  16. I am the God of thy fathers: the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac and the God of Jacob. And Moses being terrified durst not behold.

  17. And as he went on his journey, it came to pass that he drew nigh to Damascus. And suddenly a light from heaven shined round about him.

  18. And he, trembling and astonished, said: Lord, what wilt thou have me to do?

  19. Now there was a certain disciple at Damascus, named Ananias. And the Lord said to him in a vision: Ananias, And he said: Behold I am here, Lord.

  20. And the Lord said to him: Arise and go into the street that is called Strait and seek in the house of Judas, one named Saul of Tarsus. For behold he prayeth.

  21. (And he saw a man named Ananias coming in and putting his hands upon him, that he might receive his sight.)

  22. This man saw in a vision manifestly, about the ninth hour of the day, an angel of God coming in unto him and saying to him: Cornelius.

  23. And on the next day, whilst they were going on their journey and drawing nigh to the city, Peter went up to the higher parts of the house to pray, about the sixth hour.

  24. And being hungry, he was desirous to taste somewhat. And as they were preparing, there came upon him an ecstasy of mind.

  25. And he saw the heaven opened and a certain vessel descending, as it were a great linen sheet let down by the four corners from heaven to the earth:
