Bible Verses About The Second Temple
Key Bible Verses
Behold I send my angel, and he shall prepare the way before my face. And presently the Lord, whom you seek, and the angel of the testament, whom you desire, shall come to his temple. Behold, he cometh, saith the Lord of hosts.
Then the devil took him up into the holy city, and set him upon the pinnacle of the temple,
And Jesus went into the temple of God and cast out all them that sold and bought in the temple and overthrew the tables of the money changers and the chairs of them that sold doves.
And he saith to them: It is written, My house shall be called the house of prayer; but you have made it a den of thieves.
And he answering, said to them: Do you see all these things? Amen I say to you, there shall not be left here a stone upon a stone that shall not be destroyed.
When therefore you shall see the abomination of desolation, which was spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing in the holy place: he that readeth let him understand.
And they said: This man said, I am able to destroy the temple of God and after three days to rebuild it.
And behold the veil of the temple was rent in two from the top even to the bottom: and the earth quaked and the rocks were rent.
And as he was going out of the temple, one of his disciples said to him: Master, behold what manner of stones and what buildings are here.
And Jesus answering, said to him: Seest thou all these great buildings? There shall not be left a stone upon a stone, that shall not be thrown down.
I was daily with you in the temple teaching: and you did not lay hands on me. But that the scriptures may be fulfilled.
And all the multitude of the people was praying without, at the hour of incense.
And after the days of her purification, according to the law of Moses, were accomplished, they carried him to Jerusalem, to present him to the Lord:
And he came by the Spirit into the temple. And when his parents brought in the child Jesus, to do for him according to the custom of the law,
And he brought him to Jerusalem and set him on a pinnacle of the temple and said to him: If thou be the Son of God, cast thyself from hence.
Two men went up into the temple to pray: the one a Pharisee and the other a publican.
And some saying of the temple that it was adorned with goodly stones and gifts, he said:
These things which you see, the days will come in which there shall not be left a stone upon a stone that shall not be thrown down.
And he found in the temple them that sold oxen and sheep and doves, and the changers of money sitting.
And when he had made, as it were, a scourge of little cords, he drove them all out of the temple, the sheep also and the oxen: and the money of the changers he poured out, and the tables he overthrew.
And to them that sold doves he said: Take these things hence, and make not the house of my Father a house of traffic.
And his disciples remembered, that it was written: The zeal of thy house hath eaten me up.
The Jews then said: Six and forty years was this temple in building; and wilt thou raise it up in three days?
And it was the feast of the dedication at Jerusalem: and it was winter.
And Jesus walked in the temple, in Solomon's porch.
