And cast Joseph into the prison, where the king's prisoners were kept, and he was there shut up.
But the Lord was with Joseph, and having mercy upon him gave him favour in the sight of the chief keeper of the prison:
Who delivered into his hand all the prisoners that were kept in custody: and whatsoever was done, was under him.
Neither did he himself know any thing, having committed all things to him: for the Lord was with him, and made all that he did to prosper.
He sent them to the prison of the commander of the soldiers, in which Joseph also was prisoner.
And he restored the one to his place, to present him the cup:
The other he hanged on a gibbet, that the truth of the interpreter might be shewn.
If you be peaceable men, let one of your brethren be bound in prison: and go ye your ways, and carry the corn that you have bought, unto your houses.
And they put him into prison, till they might know what the Lord would command.
Then the Philistines seized upon him, and forthwith pulled out his eyes, and led him bound in chains to Gaza, and shutting him up in prison made him grind.
And tell them: Thus saith the king: Put this man in prison, and feed him with bread of affliction, and water of distress till I return in peace.
And when the king of the Assyrians found that Osee, endeavouring to rebel, had sent messengers to Sua, the king of Egypt, that he might not pay tribute to the king of the Assyrians, as he had done every year, he besieged him, bound him, and cast him into prison.
And he changed his garments which he had in prison, and he ate bread always before him, all the days of his life.

And whosoever will not do the law of thy God, and the law of the king diligently, judgment shall be executed upon him, either unto death, or unto banishment, or to the confiscation of goods, or at least to prison.
The shadow of it covered the hills: and the branches thereof the cedars of God.

The spirit of the Lord is upon me, because the Lord hath anointed me: he hath sent me to preach to the meek, to heal the contrite of heart, and to preach a release to the captives, and deliverance to them that are shut up.
The Lord hath made thee priest instead of Joiada the priest, that thou shouldst be ruler in the house of the Lord, over every man that raveth and prophesieth, to put him in the stocks, and into prison.
At that time the army of the king of Babylon besieged Jerusalem: and Jeremiah the prophet was shut up in the court of the prison, which was in the house of the king of Juda.
So Jeremiah went into the house of the prison, and into the dungeon: and Jeremiah remained there many days.
