  1. Neither shalt thou favour a poor man in judgment.

  2. Thou shalt not go aside in the poor man's judgment.

  10. I was an eye to the blind, and a foot to the lame.

  11. I was the father of the poor: and the cause which I knew not, I searched out most diligently.

  12. I wept heretofore for him that was afflicted, and my soul had compassion on the poor.

  13. Did not he that made me in the womb make him also: and did not one and the same form me in the womb?

  14. If I have denied to the poor what they desired, and have made the eyes of the widow wait:

  15. If I have eaten my morsel alone, and the fatherless hath not eaten thereof:

  16. (For from my infancy mercy grew up with me: and it came out with me from my mother's womb:)

  17. If I have despised him that was perishing for want of clothing, and the poor man that had no covering:

  18. If his sides have not blessed me, and if he were not warmed with the fleece of my sheep:

  19. If I have lifted up my hand against the fatherless, even when I saw myself superior in the gate:

  20. Let my shoulder fall from its joint, and let my arm with its bones be broken.

  21. Who accepteth not the persons of princes: nor hath regarded the tyrant, when he contended against the poor man: for all are the work of his hands.

  22. For in thee, O Lord, have I hoped: thou wilt hear me, O Lord my God.

  23. For lo, thy enemies have made a noise: and they that hate thee have lifted up the head.

  24. They have taken a malicious counsel against thy people, and have consulted against thy saints.

  25. Because that he remembered not to shew mercy, but persecuted the poor and needy man, that he might even slay the broken in heart.
