Key Bible Verses
Thy wife as a fruitful vine, on the sides of thy house. Thy children as olive plants, round about thy table.
For whom the Lord loveth, he chastiseth: and as a father in the son he pleaseth himself.
A wise son maketh the father glad: but a foolish son is the sorrow of his mother.
Hand in hand the evil man shall not be innocent: but the seed of the just shall be saved.
The good man leaveth heirs, sons, and grandsons: and the substance of the sinner is kept for the just.
He that spareth the rod, hateth his son: but he that loveth him, correcteth him betimes.
A foolish son is the anger of the father: and the sorrow of the mother that bore him.
Chastise thy son, despair not: but to the killing of him set not thy soul.
It is a proverb: A young man according to his way, even when he is old, he will not depart from it.
Folly is bound up in the heart of a child, and the rod of correction shall drive it away.
Withhold not correction from a child: for if thou strike him with the rod, he shall not die.
Thou shalt beat him with the rod, and deliver his soul from hell.
Study wisdom, my son, and make my heart joyful, that thou mayst give an answer to him that reproacheth.
The rod and reproof give wisdom: but the child that is left to his own will, bringeth his mother to shame.
Instruct thy son and he shall refresh thee, and shall give delight to thy soul.
