Bible Verses About Fear of God

And thou shalt appoint certain limits to the people round about, and thou shalt say to them: Take heed ye go not up into the mount, and that ye touch not the borders thereof: every one that toucheth the mount, dying he shall die.

No hands shall touch him, but he shall be stoned to death, or he shall be shot through with arrows: whether it be beast, or man, he shall not live. When the trumpet shall begin to sound, then let them go up into the mount.

And all the people saw the voices and the flames, and the sound of the trumpet, and the mount smoking; and being terrified and struck with fear, they stood afar off,

Saying to Moses: Speak thou to us, and we will hear: let not the Lord speak to us, lest we die.

And Moses said to the people: Fear not; for God is come to prove you, and that the dread of him might be in you, and you should not sin.

Thou shalt fear the Lord thy God, and serve him only: to him thou shalt adhere, and shalt swear by his name.

He is thy praise, and thy God, that hath done for thee these great and terrible things, which thy eyes have seen.

My foot hath stood in the direct way: in the churches I will bless thee, O Lord.

The secret of the LORD is with them that fear him; and he will shew them his covenant.

And the sound of a trumpet and the voice of words, which they that had excused themselves, that the word might not be spoken to them.

For they did not endure that which was said: and if so much as a beast shall touch the mount, it shall be stoned.

And so terrible was that which was seen, Moses said: I am frighted, and tremble.

But you are come to mount Sion and to the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to the company of many thousands of angels,

And to the church of the firstborn who are written in the heavens, and to God the judge of all, and to the spirits of the just made perfect,
