For the creature was made subject to vanity: not willingly, but by reason of him that made it subject, in hope.

And we know that to them that love God all things work together unto good: to such as, according to his purpose, are called to be saints.

Who then shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation? Or distress? Or famine? Or nakedness? Or danger? Or persecution? Or the sword?

(As it is written: For thy sake, we are put to death all the day long. We are accounted as sheep for the slaughter.)

But in all these things we overcome, because of him that hath loved us.

For I am sure that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor might,

Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Rejoicing in hope. Patient in tribulation. Instant in prayer.

For what things soever were written were written for our learning: that, through patience and the comfort of the scriptures, we might have hope.

But whilst we are judged, we are chastised by the Lord, that we be not condemned with this world.

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and the God of all comfort:

Who comforteth us in all our tribulation, that we also may be able to comfort them who are in all distress, by the exhortation wherewith we also are exhorted by God.

For as the sufferings of Christ abound in us: so also by Christ doth our comfort abound.

That our hope for you may be steadfast: knowing that as you are partakers of the sufferings, so shall you be also of the consolation.

In all things we suffer tribulation: but are not distressed. We are straitened: but are not destitute.

We suffer persecution: but are not forsaken. We are cast down: but we perish not.

Always bearing about in our body the mortification of Jesus, that the life also of Jesus may be made manifest in our bodies.

For which cause we faint not: but though our outward man is corrupted, yet the inward man is renewed day by day.

For that which is at present momentary and light of our tribulation worketh for us above measure, exceedingly an eternal weight of glory.

But God, who comforteth the humble, comforted us by the coming of Titus.

And he said to me: My grace is sufficient for thee: for power is made perfect in infirmity. Gladly therefore will I glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may dwell in me.

Bear ye one another's burdens: and so you shall fulfil the law of Christ.

Now, brethren, I desire you should know that the things which have happened to me have fallen out rather to the furtherance of the gospel:

So that my bands are made manifest in Christ, in all the court and in all other places.

And many of the brethren in the Lord, growing confident by my bands, are much more bold to speak the word of God without fear.
