about sin, in that people don’t put their trust in me;
about righteousness, in that I am going to the Father and you will no longer see me;
about judgment, in that the ruler of this world has been judged.
Upon being released, they went back to their friends and reported what the head cohanim and elders had said to them.
When they heard it, they raised their voices to God with singleness of heart. “Master,” they prayed, “You made heaven, earth, the sea and everything in them.
By the Ruach HaKodesh, through the mouth of our father David, your servant, you said, ‘Why did the nations rage and the peoples devise useless plans?
Therefore, as the Ruach HaKodesh says, “Today, if you hear God’s voice,
don’t harden your hearts, as you did in the Bitter Quarrel on that day in the Wilderness when you put God to the test.
Yes, your fathers put me to the test; they challenged me, and they saw my work for forty years!
