  1. One time when they were worshipping the Lord and fasting, the Ruach HaKodesh said to them, “Set aside for me Bar-Nabba and Sha’ul for the work to which I have called them.”

  2. After fasting and praying, they placed their hands on them and sent them off.

  3. For that is what Adonai has ordered us to do: ‘I have set you as a light for the Goyim, to be for deliverance to the ends of the earth.’ ”

  4. The Gentiles were very happy to hear this. They honored the message about the Lord, and as many as had been appointed to eternal life came to trust.

  5. “After I had returned to Yerushalayim, it happened that as I was praying in the Temple, I went into a trance,

  6. and I saw Yeshua. ‘Hurry!’ he said to me, ‘Get out of Yerushalayim immediately, because they will not accept what you have to say about me.’

  7. I said, ‘Lord, they know themselves that in every synagogue I used to imprison and flog those who trusted in you;

  8. also that when the blood of your witness Stephen was being shed, I was standing there too, in full agreement; I was even looking after the clothes of the ones who were killing him!’

  9. But he said, ‘Get going! For I am going to send you far away — to the Goyim!’”

  10. However, to those of you who are Gentiles I say this: since I myself am an emissary sent to the Gentiles, I make known the importance of my work

  11. to be a servant of the Messiah Yeshua for the Gentiles, with the priestly duty of presenting the Good News of God, so that the Gentiles may be an acceptable offering, made holy by the Ruach HaKodesh.

  12. But when God, who picked me out before I was born and called me by his grace, chose

  13. to reveal his Son to me, so that I might announce him to the Gentiles, I did not consult anyone;

  14. and I did not go up to Yerushalayim to see those who were emissaries before me. Instead, I immediately went off to Arabia and afterwards returned to Dammesek.

  15. Not until three years later did I go up to Yerushalayim to make Kefa’s acquaintance, and I stayed with him for two weeks,

  16. but I did not see any of the other emissaries except Ya‘akov the Lord’s brother.

  17. (Concerning these matters I am writing you about, I declare before God that I am not lying!)

  18. Next I went to Syria and Cilicia;

  19. but in Y’hudah, the Messianic congregations didn’t even know what I looked like —

  20. they were only hearing the report, “The one who used to persecute us now preaches the Good News of the faith he was formerly out to destroy”;

  21. and they praised God for me.
