  13. Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave Himself up for her

  14. to sanctify her, cleansing her by the washing with water through the word,

  15. and to present her to Himself as a glorious church, without stain or wrinkle or any such blemish, but holy and blameless.

  16. Indeed, no one ever hated his own body, but he nourishes and cherishes it, just as Christ does the church.

  17. For we are members of His body.

  18. This mystery is profound, but I am speaking about Christ and the church.

  19. Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right.

  20. Fathers, do not provoke your children to wrath; instead, bring them up in the discipline and instruction of the Lord.

  21. Slaves, obey your earthly masters with respect and fear and sincerity of heart, just as you would obey Christ.

  22. And do this not only to please them while they are watching, but as servants of Christ, doing the will of God from your heart.

  23. Serve with good will, as to the Lord and not to men,

  24. because you know that the Lord will reward each one for whatever good he does, whether he is slave or free.

  25. And masters, do the same for your slaves. Give up your use of threats, because you know that He who is both their Master and yours is in heaven, and there is no favoritism with Him.
