  1. The Spirit of the Lord Jehovah is upon me; because Jehovah hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the broken-hearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound;

  2. to proclaim the year of Jehovah’s favor, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all that mourn;

  3. to appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them a garland for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they may be called trees of righteousness, the planting of Jehovah, that he may be glorified.

  4. And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart.

  5. that Jehovah thy God may show us the way wherein we should walk, and the thing that we should do.

  6. In those days, and in that time, saith Jehovah, the children of Israel shall come, they and the children of Judah together; they shall go on their way weeping, and shall seek Jehovah their God.

  8. It is good that a man should hope and quietly wait for the salvation of Jehovah.

  9. Let us lift up our heart with our hands unto God in the heavens.

  10. But if the wicked turn from all his sins that he hath committed, and keep all my statutes, and do that which is lawful and right, he shall surely live, he shall not die.

  11. None of his transgressions that he hath committed shall be remembered against him: in his righteousness that he hath done he shall live.

  12. Have I any pleasure in the death of the wicked? saith the Lord Jehovah; and not rather that he should return from his way, and live?

  13. And I set my face unto the Lord God, to seek by prayer and supplications, with fasting and sackcloth and ashes.

  14. afterward shall the children of Israel return, and seek Jehovah their God, and David their king, and shall come with fear unto Jehovah and to his goodness in the latter days.

  15. I will go and return to my place, till they acknowledge their offence, and seek my face: in their affliction they will seek me earnestly.

  18. and rend your heart, and not your garments, and turn unto Jehovah your God; for he is gracious and merciful, slow to anger, and abundant in lovingkindness, and repenteth him of the evil.

  19. For thus saith Jehovah unto the house of Israel, Seek ye me, and ye shall live;

  20. but seek not Beth-el, nor enter into Gilgal, and pass not to Beer-sheba: for Gilgal shall surely go into captivity, and Beth-el shall come to nought.

  21. Seek Jehovah, and ye shall live; lest he break out like fire in the house of Joseph, and it devour, and there be none to quench it in Beth-el.

  22. seek him that maketh the Pleiades and Orion, and turneth the shadow of death into the morning, and maketh the day dark with night; that calleth for the waters of the sea, and poureth them out upon the face of the earth (Jehovah is his name);

  23. Seek good, and not evil, that ye may live; and so Jehovah, the God of hosts, will be with you, as ye say.

  24. And they shall wander from sea to sea, and from the north even to the east; they shall run to and fro to seek the word of Jehovah, and shall not find it.

  25. Seek ye Jehovah, all ye meek of the earth, that have kept his ordinances; seek righteousness, seek meekness: it may be ye will be hid in the day of Jehovah’s anger.
