  1. Now therefore let Pharaoh look out a man discreet and wise, and set him over the land of Egypt.

  2. Moreover thou shalt provide out of all the people able men, such as fear God, men of truth, hating unjust gain; and place such over them, to be rulers of thousands, rulers of hundreds, rulers of fifties, and rulers of tens:

  3. and let them judge the people at all seasons: and it shall be, that every great matter they shall bring unto thee, but every small matter they shall judge themselves: so shall it be easier for thyself, and they shall bear the burden with thee.

  4. And thou shalt take no bribe: for a bribe blindeth them that have sight, and perverteth the words of the righteous.

  5. Take you wise men, and understanding, and known, according to your tribes, and I will make them heads over you.

  6. Judges and officers shalt thou make thee in all thy gates, which Jehovah thy God giveth thee, according to thy tribes; and they shall judge the people with righteous judgment.

  7. Thou shalt not wrest justice: thou shalt not respect persons; neither shalt thou take a bribe; for a bribe doth blind the eyes of the wise, and pervert the words of the righteous.

  8. That which is altogether just shalt thou follow, that thou mayest live, and inherit the land which Jehovah thy God giveth thee.

  9. Cursed be he that wresteth the justice due to the sojourner, fatherless, and widow. And all the people shall say, Amen.

  10. The God of Israel said, The Rock of Israel spake to me: One that ruleth over men righteously, That ruleth in the fear of God,

  11. He shall beas the light of the morning, when the sun riseth, A morning without clouds, Whenthe tender grassspringeth out of the earth, Through clear shining after rain.

  12. And thou, Ezra, after the wisdom of thy God that is in thy hand, appoint magistrates and judges, who may judge all the people that are beyond the River, all such as know the laws of thy God; and teach ye him that knoweth them not.

  13. Now therefore be wise, O ye kings: Be instructed, ye judges of the earth.

  14. Serve Jehovah with fear, And rejoice with trembling.

  15. Give the king thy judgments, O God, And thy righteousness unto the king’s son.

  16. He will judge thy people with righteousness, And thy poor with justice.

  17. The mountains shall bring peace to the people, And the hills, in righteousness.

  18. He will judge the poor of the people, He will save the children of the needy, And will break in pieces the oppressor.

  19. They shall fear thee while the sun endureth, And so long as the moon, throughout all generations.

  20. He will come down like rain upon the mown grass, As showers that water the earth.

  21. In his days shall the righteous flourish, And abundance of peace, till the moon be no more.

  22. He shall have dominion also from sea to sea, And from the River unto the ends of the earth.

  23. They that dwell in the wilderness shall bow before him; And his enemies shall lick the dust.

  24. The kings of Tarshish and of the isles shall render tribute: The kings of Sheba and Seba shall offer gifts.

  25. Yea, all kings shall fall down before him; All nations shall serve him.
