  1. And as ye enter into the house, salute it.

  2. And if the house be worthy, let your peace come upon it: but if it be not worthy, let your peace return to you.

  3. And whosoever shall not receive you, nor hear your words, as ye go forth out of that house or that city, shake off the dust of your feet.

  4. Verily I say unto you, It shall be more tolerable for the land of Sodom and Gomorrah in the day of judgment, than for that city.

  9. But I say unto you that it shall be more tolerable for the land of Sodom in the day of judgment, than for thee.

  10. For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned.

  11. The men of Nineveh shall stand up in the judgment with this generation, and shall condemn it: for they repented at the preaching of Jonah; and behold, a greater than Jonah is here.

  12. The queen of the south shall rise up in the judgment with this generation, and shall condemn it: for she came from the ends of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon; and behold, a greater than Solomon is here.

  13. Wherefore ye witness to yourselves, that ye are sons of them that slew the prophets.

  14. Fill ye up then the measure of your fathers.

  15. Ye serpents, ye offspring of vipers, how shall ye escape the judgment of hell?

  16. Therefore, behold, I send unto you prophets, and wise men, and scribes: some of them shall ye kill and crucify; and some of them shall ye scourge in your synagogues, and persecute from city to city:

  17. that upon you may come all the righteous blood shed on the earth, from the blood of Abel the righteous unto the blood of Zachariah son of Barachiah, whom ye slew between the sanctuary and the altar.

  18. Forit isaswhena man, going into another country, called his own servants, and delivered unto them his goods.

  19. And unto one he gave five talents, to another two, to another one; to each according to his several ability; and he went on his journey.

  20. Straightway he that received the five talents went and traded with them, and made other five talents.

  21. In like manner he also that received the two gained other two.

  22. But he that received the one went away and digged in the earth, and hid his lord’s money.

  23. Now after a long time the lord of those servants cometh, and maketh a reckoning with them.

  24. And he that received the five talents came and brought other five talents, saying, Lord, thou deliveredst unto me five talents: lo, I have gained other five talents.

  25. His lord said unto him, Well done, good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will set thee over many things; enter thou into the joy of thy lord.
