  1. And Jacob called unto his sons, and said: Gather yourselves together, that I may tell you that which shall befall you in the latter days.

  2. And Balaam lifted up his eyes, and he saw Israel dwelling according to their tribes; and the Spirit of God came upon him.

  10. And now, behold, I go unto my people: come, and I will advertise thee what this people shall do to thy people in the latter days.

  11. If there arise in the midst of thee a prophet, or a dreamer of dreams, and he give thee a sign or a wonder,

  12. and the sign or the wonder come to pass, whereof he spake unto thee, saying, Let us go after other gods, which thou hast not known, and let us serve them;

  13. thou shalt not hearken unto the words of that prophet, or unto that dreamer of dreams: for Jehovah your God proveth you, to know whether ye love Jehovah your God with all your heart and with all your soul.

  14. But the prophet, that shall speak a word presumptuously in my name, which I have not commanded him to speak, or that shall speak in the name of other gods, that same prophet shall die.

  15. when a prophet speaketh in the name of Jehovah, if the thing follow not, nor come to pass, that is the thing which Jehovah hath not spoken: the prophet hath spoken it presumptuously, thou shalt not be afraid of him.
