  1. On the sixth day, the prince of the sons of Gad, Eliasaph son of Deuel; --

  2. his offering is one silver dish, its weight a hundred and thirty shekels ; one silver bowl of seventy shekels, by the shekel of the sanctuary, both of them full of flour mixed with oil, for a present;

  3. one golden spoon of ten shekels , full of perfume;

  4. one bullock, a son of the herd, one ram, one lamb, a son of a year, for a burnt-offering;

  5. one kid of the goats for a sin-offering;

  6. and for a sacrifice of the peace-offerings two oxen, five rams, five he-goats, five lambs, sons of a year; this is the offering of Eliasaph son of Deuel.

  7. And the standard of the camp of Reuben hath journeyed, by their hosts, and over its host is Elizur son of Shedeur.

  8. And over the host of the tribe of the sons of Simeon is Shelumiel son of Zurishaddai.

  9. And over the host of the tribe of the sons of Gad is Eliasaph son of Deuel;

  10. Sons of Gad by their families: of Zephon is the family of the Zephonite; of Haggi the family of the Haggite; of Shuni the family of the Shunite;

  11. of Ozni the family of the Oznite; of Eri the family of the Erite:

  12. of Arod the family of the Arodite; of Areli the family of the Arelite.

  13. And much cattle hath been to the sons of Reuben and to the sons of Gad, very many; and they see the land of Jazer, and the land of Gilead, and lo, the place is a place for cattle;

  14. and the sons of Gad, and the sons of Reuben, come in and speak unto Moses, and unto Eleazar the priest, and unto the princes of the company, saying:

  15. `Ataroth, and Dibon, and Jazer, and Nimrah, and Heshbon, and Elealeh, and Shebam, and Nebo, and Beon--

  16. the land which Jehovah hath smitten before the company of Israel, is a land for cattle, and thy servants have cattle.'

  17. And they say, `If we have found grace in thine eyes, let this land be given to thy servants for a possession; cause us not to pass over the Jordan.'

  18. And Moses saith to the sons of Gad and to the sons of Reuben, `Do your brethren go in to the battle, and ye--do ye sit here?

  19. and why discourage ye the heart of the sons of Israel from passing over unto the land which Jehovah hath given to them?

  20. `Thus did your fathers in my sending them from Kadesh-Barnea to see the land;

  21. and they go up unto the valley of Eshcol, and see the land, and discourage the heart of the sons of Israel so as not to go in unto the land which Jehovah hath given to them;

  22. and the anger of Jehovah burneth in that day, and He sweareth, saying,

  23. They do not see--the men who are coming up out of Egypt from a son of twenty years and upward--the ground which I have sworn to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, for they have not been fully after Me;

  24. save Caleb son of Jephunneh the Kenezite, and Joshua son of Nun, for they have been fully after Jehovah;

  25. and the anger of Jehovah burneth against Israel, and He causeth them to wander in the wilderness forty years, until the consumption of all the generation which is doing the evil thing in the eyes of Jehovah.
